Session length: 50 minutes. Occasionally, a longer session is scheduled for EMDR.
Location: Online, on a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform.
Rate: $150 per 50 minute session. Who is in the session? I often meet with parents/caregivers for the bulk of sessions, with family sessions as needed, based on treatment goals.
When I provide EMDR to children, parents are seen as an essential part of the process. Sessions vary from being parent-only, child-only, and parent-child.
How often are the appointments? That is up to you, but we can talk more about what will work best for your family and your situation. Generally, it is helpful to meet weekly - especially in the beginning - as we are establishing a relationship. I know this is not always possible, and meeting every other week can also work well. Some families choose to "taper down" to meeting less frequently when we are nearing the end of treatment.
How long will we need to be in therapy? The answer depends on your child and family as well as the type of treatment that we proceed with. EMDR is known to be a short-term treatment, both efficient and effective. What insurances do you take?
I am in-network for Cigna, and I am an authorized out-of-network provider for Tricare. If you have any type of insurance that is a PPO, you can request reimbursement.
Paying out of pocket, rather than going through your insurance company, allows us to work together without a diagnosis Your information does not go to a third party insurance company.
Many families also choose to pay through their company's health spending account. That way the services are tax-free, and you typically do not need a diagnosis to get reimbursement.
